Samsung has added a 14-inch Galaxy Book6 to its laptop range, a cheaper entry point built to bring the series’ design down to a lower price rather than replace it with a stripped-down spin-off. The Galaxy Book6 price on this model starts at $799 in the US (listed as £800 / €850 abroad), well under what Samsung’s existing higher-tier Galaxy Book6 configurations cost. It runs Windows 11, with a Linux configuration also offered, and Samsung rates the battery at up to 25 hours between charges.
There is no separate charging port either: both USB-C connectors on the chassis handle power as well as peripherals, so a dock or a second cable is the only way to charge and plug in a monitor at the same time.
Where it fits in the Galaxy Book6 range
Samsung already sells Galaxy Book6 models built around higher-tier Intel processors; this 14-inch version undercuts them on price while keeping the same design language and Galaxy AI-enabled features, rather than losing them to hit the lower number. That distinction matters because budget models in a manufacturer’s lineup often cut software features along with processing headroom, not just the chip. Here, Samsung keeps the Galaxy AI toolset and the Galaxy Book6 design intact, and saves the money instead on the processor tier, the memory speed and the display panel, the parts of the machine least tied to Samsung’s wider ecosystem of phones and tablets.

The 14-inch panel is a 16:10 LCD with an anti-glare coating, running at 1,920 x 1,200 resolution and 350 nits brightness, paired with LPDDR5X memory and a choice of Intel Core 3 or Core 5 chips. GSMArena measured the chassis at 15.7mm thick and 1.35kg, with a 61.2Wh battery behind the quoted 25-hour runtime.

Samsung is framing the model as an entry point rather than a downgrade. “With the new Galaxy Book6, we wanted to make the Galaxy Book experience available for more people,” said Mincheol Lee, EVP and head of Samsung’s Galaxy Ecosystems Business Team. “At a more accessible price, it brings together the everyday essentials users value, including dependable performance, long-lasting battery life, connected Galaxy experiences, and Galaxy Book6’s design DNA, giving users confidence that lasts beyond the purchase.”
Why the Galaxy Book6 price isn’t identical everywhere
Two outlets put the US price at $799; a third lists it as $800, alongside £800 and €850 for the UK and eurozone. By our arithmetic, those non-dollar figures aren’t a straight currency conversion at all: UK and EU retail prices are typically quoted VAT-inclusive, while the US figure is pre-tax, so an identical-looking “800” buys a different amount of laptop depending on where the buyer is standing at the till.
The dollar-figure gap between outlets is trivial, a rounding difference of a single dollar, but the matching digits across three currencies are worth treating with more scepticism than they invite at a glance, since a like-for-like comparison would need the US number with tax added back in, not the sterling and euro figures taken at face value.
