Samsung’s open-ear Galaxy Buds On have leaked in detailed renders that show off the clip-style design and a set of software features, including an Auto Volume mode and customisable gestures.
The renders, first reported by 9to5Google, are not a rough sketch. They show a finished-looking product, and they line up with an earlier round of leaks that had already pointed to a clip-on shape rather than the stemmed look of Samsung’s existing Galaxy Buds.
Galaxy Buds On’s clip design and Auto Volume
Galaxy Buds On use a two-part construction: one piece holds the speaker and sits in the ear, while the other rests behind the ear for support. A silicone loop connects the two, and the design includes pogo-pin connectors that charge the buds once they are seated in the case. That is a departure from the in-ear tip or open-ear cuff shapes Samsung has shipped before, and it points to a product aimed at all-day wear rather than sport specifically.
On the software side, the leak names an Auto Volume feature and support for gestures, though neither outlet’s renders detail exactly how the gesture controls are mapped. Samsung has not confirmed a launch date or pricing for Galaxy Buds On.
A second, workout-focused pair: the Buds T1
Separately, a second Samsung earbud has surfaced under the model number SM-R545 and the internal codename T1, previously referenced as the Galaxy Buds Canal 5. According to Android Authority, references to the device turned up in an APK file, and its renders show an ear-hook design meant to lock in place during workouts and running, rather than the clip fit used on Buds On.
The same report lists an Earbud Fit Test and customisable touch gestures, plus battery figures pulled from that APK: 63mAh per earbud and a 595mAh charging case. Those are vendor-side numbers extracted from pre-release code, not results from an independent battery test, so treat them as a target rather than a guarantee until Samsung confirms them.
Two products, one leaker
Both leaks trace back to the same source, SammyGuru, which means the Buds On renders and the T1 details are less two independent confirmations than one leaker’s file-mining making its way through different outlets. By teqpost’s arithmetic, 9to5Google’s report landed roughly 12 hours ahead of GSMArena’s follow-up on the same Buds On renders, which is the shape a single-source leak usually takes as it gets picked up and re-verified rather than independently reported.
The bigger pattern is Samsung running two earbud lines at once: an open-ear clip design for everyday wear, and an ear-hook design built specifically for workouts. That mirrors the approach Samsung has taken elsewhere in its hardware lineup this year. Teqpost covered Samsung, Acer and Dell all launching MacBook Neo rivals at IFA, and later how the $799 Galaxy Book6 made the design cheaper rather than smaller. The Buds On and T1 leaks suggest that same segmentation strategy, cheaper and more accessible variants sitting alongside flagship hardware, is now extending from laptops into audio.
